The officers went to the Leadership Training Conference in Oklahoma City. They raised money by selling calendars, magazines, and sausage. They also found time to enter Land, Dairy, Range and Pasture judging contests. The F. F. A. mothers worked diligently to give the annual Parent-Son Banquet. We had a busy year! That District Rally in Yukon! And that State Rally in Oklahoma City. The Grandmother s Tea and a Layette Shower for Mrs. Downing were the highlights of our year. The year ended with the formal installation of our new officers. OFFICERS: STANDING: L. Sluder, sponsor; P. Crabtree, Projects Chairman; A. Davis, Parliamentarian; P. Hughes, Photographer; L. It was just the Seniors of '73 earning money to pay for the Senior Trip. Our class had the honor of having the Homecoming Queen and also winning first place in the Homecoming Float contest. We also served as hosts and hostesses for College Relations Day. At last we could order our announcements and our caps and gowns, in preparation for THE day. Graduation. Becoming a sophomore brought with it many changes. At last we were in high school. For the first time we were able to choose our classes. One of the most interesting classes, but also the smelliest, was biology. We dissected seven different animals that had been pickled in formaldehyde. Fortunately we all had very strong stomachs-not one single regurgitation. Drivers' Ed. class was the most fun. The most interesting thing about this class was Mr. Loftin's and Mr. Algoe's ability to turn different colors as diasters were narrowly avoided one after another. Luckily, we all managed to live through it. One of the highlights of the year was the time our'homecoming car won third place in the 'homecoming parade. 68 Lynne Bailey Lloyd Bell Billy Bowring David Bowring Neal Bridwell Martha Brooks Susie Brooks Kathy Brown Bambi Cooley Elizabeth Cooley Ronnie Cottrell Tony Dailey Class Mary Daniels Rickey Edgemon Terry Edwards Robert Ellifritt Freeda Foster Kim Francis Betty Franklin Pat Franklin Chris Freemen Janelle Gabel Mark Gambill Nancy Godwin Billy Goldsborough Tonia Graham Raymond Grimes Cindy Haliburton Mike Harmon Susan Harmon Interviewing for Vo-Tech. 69 Yuk! No longer are we just a bunch of grade school kids, or some silly seventh or eighth grade students; we're FRESHMEN! We had many firsts this year. The girls learned how to cook (well, at least heatup) and to sew a straight seam. The boys learned how to care for livestock and how to run woodworking machinery, We also were initiated intoF.H.A. and F.F.A. Our class had the honor of having the 1972 Carnival King and Queen. We have made a start, but we still have a long way to go—so look out High School! Here We Come! The adjustment to school days with changing classes but without recess was difficult and very trying. We made our first 'homecoming float, and placed second in the Carnival King and Queen contest. But it wasn't all work. The organizations, band and vocal music, and pep assemblies taught us as much as the books.
