It represents a combination of talents and reflects the school year which we have shared. SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS Bill Cheatham BOARD OF EDUCATION Seated (1 to r): Mr. Bill Cheatham, Supt.; Mr. Paul Aldridge, Pres, of the Board Standing (1 to r): Mr. Bob Neal, Mr. James Chambers, Mr. John Sill, Clerk; Mr. Gary York. 4 The Lion Staff and its sponsor, Mrs. Stokes, are to lx commended for the work and the time spent in order c this yearbook. The 1972 yearbook should be , 1 ok to be remembered as the student body accomplished many notable achievements during the 1971-1972 school term. SENIOR HIGH PRINCIPAL Jim Loftin Each person in the school system contributes a little of himself in order to make a total school. I would like to thank the annual staff and its sponsor for the way in which they have made their contributions so that the students who attended Blanchard public schools would have the memories of the 1971-1972 school year preserved for them. They are each looking for something different. Some are searching for knowledge; others for friends, new situations, and new experiences. School is a blending of all these things with one common goal--preparation of young people to meet the challenge of a complex society. Between Classes Students get books, talk, finish homework, and eat. They put up signs, make signs, work on banquets. Between-class activity is often the pulse of a school—the indicator of its life. After Classes Activities are an integral part of student life. After classes the students at Blanchard Junior High and Andrew J. Terrell High are very busy. They can participate in Pep Club, Music, FHA, FFA, Football, Basketball, Baseball, Annual Staff, Band, Drama, and class activities. Some have responsibilities in all of the organizations; most students, in at least two. These activities bring people together with a common bond and make school spirit and a feeling of belonging a part of life. The long road to graduation is climaxed on Commencement Night. A student's education is a combined effort on the part of the individual student who has studied for twelve years, on the part of his parents, and on the part of his teachers.
