 OFFICERS—Standing: Donell Br x ks. Reporter: Linda Franklin. Sgi.-Al-Arms; Kathy Davis. Vice-Pres. Kneeling: Ronnie Stephens. Pres.: Jimmy Queen. Sec.-Treas.: Jay Neal. Sgt.-At-Arms. We. the Freshman class—all 67 of us, wish to tell our side of the story. To start the year, we elected Ronnie Stephens as our President and for support we elected Kathy Davis, Jimmy Queen, Donett Brooks. Jay Neal, and Linda Franklin as fellow class officers. Ronnie moved to Texas and Kathy became our President at the end of the first semester. Donett Brooks and Ronnie Stephens were elected as Annual Staff members; Gary Massey filled Ronnie's place when he moved. Our class was honored by Marie McClain, who was our Football Attendant for the Homecoming Festivities. Both Mr. and Miss Melody came from our class; they were Kathy Davis and Jimmy Queen. Our class, notorious for its beauty, is equaled by its brains. We had a total of seven class members on the State Honor Society — Perry Dyer, Randy Floyd, Kathy Brooks, Kathy Davis. Karry Green-myer. Sharon Richey and Cheryl McDonald. Randy Floyd received the Science Award; Cheryl McDonald received the Special Home Economics Award: Perry Dyer received both the Music award and the Algebra Award: Donett Brooks received the Annual Staff Award; and, Kathy Brooks and Kathy Davis were this year’s Gloria Simer Sportsmanship Award winners. Sharon Richey won the Scholarship Award from our class. In sports during football season we had Gary Massey, Roy Jordon, Eddie Grimes, Carl Autry, Tim Allen, Russel Jones. Melton Brandt, Steve Chapman, Jay Neal, Richard Steele, Chris Wooley, Ronnie Stephens, and Billy James make the team. In boys' basketball our class was represented by Melton Brandt, Carl Autry, Russel Jones, Eddie Grimes. Gary Massey, and Roy Jordan. Our girls who were on the basketball team included Vickie Howerton. Naomi Thomas. Marie McClain, Donett Brooks, Kathy Brooks, Patti Crabtree. Betty Carpenter. Beverly Whitford. Toni Lewis. Kathy Davis, and Cherol Pierce. Our class was represented in baseball by Steve Chapman, Eddie Grimes, Gary Massey, Karry Greenmyer, Melton Brandt, and Roy Jordan. All of our class participated in Music. The Freshman girls who sang in the Double Sextet were Toni Lewis, Janet Dickinson, Marilyn Holder, Linda Franklin, Cheryl McDonald, Sharon Richey. Donett Brooks. Beverly Whitford, Claudia Prigmore, Marie McClain and Charla Bowling. Beverly Whitford. Claudia Prigmore. Perry Dyer and Jimmy Queen took solos to contest and Perry Dyer was the accompanist for the Music groups. The Junior High Pep Club had many members from our class. Our cheerleaders included Kathy Brooks, Donett Brooks and Naomi Thomas. We were also well represented in FHA and FFA. Jay Neal was chosen as this year's Outstanding Greenhand in FFA. Our class would like to thank Mrs. Stokes and Mr. Dodd for being our sponsors again this year. Without their help, we couldn't have made it. 26
