Freshman Freshman Officers Sponsors Standing: Mr. Kimbrough, Sponsor; Paul Stone, Treas.;Gary Barrington, Pres. Kenneth McIntyre, V-Pres.: Mrs. Sluder, Sponsor. Seated: Terri Sill, Reporter and Barbara Bailey. Secretary. Well, the year of'68 '69 is over!!! Our Freshman year has been one to remember. We started this exciting year by electing Gary Barrington as President and for his support we elected Kenneth McIntyre, Paul Stone, Terri Sill, and Barbara Bailey as fellow class officers. Those elected to the Annual Staff to serve the remainder of their high school years were Terri Sill and Tim Sluder. Our class was honored by Barbara Bailey as the ninth grade football attendant. We were also honored to have both Mr. and Miss Melody from our class; they were Terri Sill (Miss Melody) and Kenneth McIntyre (Mr. Melody). Our class is not lacking in brains because we had several Freshmen to receive awards during the Awards Assembly in May. Those who were listed on the Oklahoma State Honor Society were Junetta Johnson, Linda Monroe, and Glen Basler. Glen also received the Science and the Industrial Arts awards. Marlene Kirkham received the Special Home Economics Award. Teresa Queen and Terri Sill were this year's Gloria Simer Sportsmanship Award winners. Linda Monroe won the Scholastic Award from our class. In sports, we had Mike Bergman, Tim Sluder, Ricky Bright, Greg Brooks, Kenneth McIntyre, Mack Brooks, Troy Ross, Gene McConnell, Eddie Haynes, Gary Barrington, Allen Talburt, Terry Jenkins, and Mike Kirkham in football. In boys' basketball, our class was represented by Mike Bergman, Tim Sluder, Gene McConnell, Toby Boyer, Sammy Kelly, Ricky Kimbrell, Terry Jenkins, and Greg Brooks. Our girls were also very active in basketball, and those who participated included Beverly Blackburn, Terri Sill, Teresa Queen, Joan Gilmore, Debbie Cunningham, Karla Moore and Radonna Mills. Yes, the Freshman class is also active in sports. We had over 90% of our class enrolled in Music. Those singing in the Mixed Chorus in Senior High were Karla Moore, Teresa Queen, Mike Bergman, Greg Brooks, and Tim Sluder. The Freshman girls singing in the Double Sextet included Teresa Queen, Beverly Blackburn, Debbie Cunningham, Karla Moore, Carol Staton, Joan Gilmore, and Terri Sill. The girls from our class who took solos to contest were Karla Moore and Teresa Queen, and we were very proud of their ratings. The Junior High Pep Club had many members from the Freshman class. Our cheerleaders were Barbara Bailey, Terri Sill and Beverly Blackburn. We were also well represented in both FHA and FFA, and Mack Brooks was chosen outstanding Greenhand of the year in FFA. Our class would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Sluder and Mr. Kimbrough for being our sponsors for we know that we could not have accomplished our objectives without their guidance and their constant help. 24
