Seniors OFFICERS AND SPONSORS Senior Class of 68 - 69 Standing - Mr. Travis Anthony. Sponsor; Hal Dennis. Vice-President; Wayne Pierce, President; Mrs. Betty Lewis, Sponsor; Seated - Danice McDonald, Secretary Treasure; JoEtta Whitford, Reporter. It was the year that was! Never let it be said that the Class of '69 left these solemn halls in silence! We started our Senior year by electing the following officers: President. Wayne Pierce; Vice-President. Hal Dennis; Secretary. Danice McDonald; and. Reporter, JoEtta Whiteford. As far as our Royalty is concerned our class did itself proud. Pam Aldridge was elected Football Queen and Holly Bridwell and Danny Riddle were chosen Mr. and Miss Music. Twelve Senior girls participated in FHA. three of whom were officers: President was Holly Bridwell and DeeAnn McKinney served as Vice-President; Linda Lee was Song Leader. Other members were Diana Hobbs, Sue Lee. Pam Aldridge, JoEtta Whitford, Danice McDonald. Buttons Burlison, Pat Walker, Teresa Wilson, and Peggy Brasiel. Eight Senior Boys participated in FFA. five of these eight were officers. Wayne Pierce was President, Hal Dennis was Vice-President, Jerry Pickard served as Secretary, and Wiley Pierce was Reporter. Danny McIntyre was both an officer (Sentinel) and a State Farmer. Other members were Larry Brooks, G. W. Freeman, Gene Kimbrell. There were nineteen Senior girls and one Senior boy who were active in Music. Three of these girls were officers: Sue Lee, President. Danice McDonald, Secretary; and DeeAnn McKinney, Treasurer. The other members were Peggy Brasiel, Holly Bridwell, Diana Hobbs. Rebecca Wilmeth. Susie Sperry, Barbara Conn, Joyce East, Donna Huffman, Linda Lee. Pat Walker, JoEtta Whitford. Teresa Wilson, Juanita Cable, Shirley Tullis, Wanda Chapman, and Danny Riddle. Those in the Girls' Double Sextet were Danice McDonald, DeeAnn McKinney. Teresa Wilson. Holly Bridwell, Rebecca Wilmeth. and Linda Lee. Danice McDonald. Dee Ann McKinney, Teresa Wilson, and Holly Bridwell also took solos to contest where they placed Excellent at District. A number of Senior Girls participated in Pep Club and Susie Sperry and DeeAnn McKinney were Senior Cheerleaders. Officers from the Senior class included Danice McDonald, President; Linda Lee, Secretary; and Holly Bridwell and Sue Lee were Sgts. at Arms. Seniors were indeed athletic! Football was well represented by our boys-Wayne Pierce. Wiley Pierce. Jerry Pickard, Larry Brooks. Hal Dennis. G. W. Freeman. Danny McIntyre, Greg Goodman, and Kenneth McDonald. Baseball was also well represented by Seniors and Wayne Pierce and Gene Kimbrell made Baseball All-Conference. Other Seniors who participated in Baseball were: Larry Brooks, Danny McIntyre, Jerry Pickard. Danny Riddle; Basketball, for both boys and girls, was full of USI Boys playing basketball included: Wiley Pierce, Wayne Pierce, and Gene Kimbrell. We had five Senior girls who went out and did a fine job. They were Danice McDonald, Holjy Bridwell. Linda Lee, Sue Lee, and Donna Huffman. Holly Bridwell received the Basketball Award. In Awards Assembly we looked fine. The top scholastic honors were carried off by Joyce East, Valedictorian, and DeeAnn McKinney, Salutatorian. All-Around Boy and All-Around Girl Awards were presented to Holly Bridwell and to Wayne Pierce. Other awards were Joyce East. English Award Bookkeeping Award; Wayne Pierce. Football Award All-Around Athlete Award; DeeAnn McKinney. Home Ec. Award; Peggy Brasiel, Algebra Award; Teresa Wilson. Music Award, Danice McDonald. Bookkeeping Award; Jerry Pickard. Annual Staff Award; Danny McIntyre, Agriculture Award; Juanita Cable, Betty Crocker Award, Scholarship Awards went to Juanita Cable, DeeAnn McKinney and Joyce East. The Seniors who were on the Oklahoma Honor Society were DeeAnn McKinney, Joyce East. Juanita Cable, and Holly Bridwell. We, the Seniors of 1969, would like to express our gratitude at this time to Mrs. Lewis and to Mr. Anthony for being wonderful sponsors. We will miss you in the years ahead, but we will continue to be grateful to you for all that you have done for us. Without futher word, we close this year with satisfaction in ourselves and our accomplishments. It will always linger with us that This was the year that Was! 10
