FRESHMEN CLASS OFFICERS Jacky, President; John Pettigrew, Vice President; David Richey, Secretary; Connell McCraw, Reporter; Charles Foster, Sergeant-at-Arms. We, the Freshman class of 1957, have enjoyed our first year of high school and are looking forward to our next three years. At the first of the year the class elected officers. We elected: Jacky Wigley, President; John Pettigrew, Vice President; David Richey, Secretary; Connell McCraw, Reporter; and Charles Foster, Sergeant-at-Arms. The Junior High football team was almost entirely composed of Freshman boys and three Freshman boys earned positions on the high school team. Both girls and boys of the Freshman class were active in basketball as well as baseball and softball. Our girls were active in Junior High and High School Pep Club. Carole Wilson, our football queen candidate, was escorted by Joe Lowry at the coronation of the queen in half time ceremonies at the Capitol Hill B Blanchard game. Our F.F.A. Sweetheart, Carole Wilson, attended the F.F.A. Banquet and was presented as the official F.F.A. Sweetheart for 1957. We are proud of our agriculture and shop boys who have worked diligently all year on their various projects. Two of our classmates were on the honor society. They were Carole Golden and Joe Lowry. Carole Golden received a scholarship award. Joe Lowry received the Science Award at the awards assembly. To crown our exciting Freshman year we came in second, short of first by only one vote, on the annual queen race to almost snatch victory for our candidate, Teresa Clouse. We want to say thank you to our sponsor, Mrs Ensminger, who has led us safely through our first year of high school.
