QS 01050112 ore t7Cf1Ul71QS During the year of 1954-55, Ron Brooks presided as president of the Sopho- more Class. He was ably assisted by Terry Matheny, vice presidents June Lewis secretaryg and Mike Gammill, reporter. Mr. Hutchinson was our sponsor. The sophomores are very proud that Iannette Byers was nmner-up in the con test for FFA sweetheart. She was given a beautiful compact by members of the FFA. The class took equal pride in seeing June Lewis escorted by Frank Coshow in the beautiful ceremony of coronation between halves of the Blanchard-Minco game. Our demure Sharon Ferguson was candidate for Annual Queen, and Bar- bara Sewell and Ron Brooks looked charming as escorts to the King and Queen of Hearts. Next year the success of the football team will depend, to a large extent, on eleven sophomore boys, who made a good showing in their second year of football. We were extremely proud of the three boys who made the first team: Ron Brooks, Gorden Rolen, and Frank Coshow. There were 10 sophomore girls in the Pep Club, who feel they had a lot to do with the success of the club. We feel that the sophomore class was well represented on the girls' basket- ball team. There were four girls in the class who eamed suits. Last, but not least, we were represented in the Girls' Glee Club with eight sophomore girls. They are very proud of the Superior rating awarded to them at the state contest at Norman. The class as a whole has enjoyed their second year of high school and is looking forward to their coming year.
