v csenzbr Qyclivbzfzcs We, the members of the Senior Class of 1955, can truly say that we en- joyed our last year in Blanchard High School immeasurably. All of us have formed many lasting friendships in those walls which we will certainly cherish in the years to come. At the beginning of the school term, we elected these officers: Haskell I-Iuffhines, president, Wendell Young, vice-president, Jack Brooks, secretary: Devonne Cooper, treasurer, Jack Jarman, reporter. Of the nine boys who went out for football, nine made the first string. Five of our boys were on the basketball team, and several were active in boxing and track. Senior boys have always starred in F.F. A. and shop activities. Girls of our class have not sat idly by during our high school years. They have been very active in sports and in music. This year, five girls participated in basketball with three making the team, and several girls were in softball activities. Eight girls were members of the Lionette Pep Club. Nine of the senior girls sang in the Glee Club, assisting it in making superior ratings at both district and state contests. Seniors have been leaders in library and Junior Red Cross work, and espec- ially outstanding in Speech League activities. Two of our number have been Annual staff members for four years. Seniors have ranked high in scholarship, too, this year the count in the Honor Society was five. Our royalty this year included Devonne Cooper, nominee for football queen and Letha Lewis, who won the title of Annual Queen over five other candidates. Our goal in all money-making projects was making money for our Senior trip. Mr. Terrell, our sponsor, was very helpful and considerate to us, and we appreciate his able assistance very much. We went by chartered bus to a resort at Noel, Missouri. The three days we spent there were packed full of swim- ming, boating, horseback' riding, bowling, non-sleep parties, and--uh--many other things. We sincerely hope that the classes below us enjoy their high school days as much as we have enjoyed ours.
