- u The Junior Class of 46 and 47 has completed its third yeqr in high school with outstanding success in the majority of the things it has set out to do We are well satisfied with the work of our class officers Ray Bridwell, president) George Dennis, vice-president) Don Watson, secretary-treasurer) Don Parnell, student council representative} and Andrew Terrell, sponsor Our first important £9£lal affair was the Junior-Senior Christmas Party, given under the direction of Mr. Starry, Senior Sponsor. At this party, games were played, refreshments served, and gifts exchanged. This party was held in the recreation room of the high school building. The Juniors feel that they have contributed their share to the success of this year's activity program. Although the Junior Football Queen Candidate, Genelle Bayless, was defeated, we are justly proud of the support given by all members of the class in her behalf. In the race for Basketball Queen, our candidate, Betty Jo Dugger, faired better and was chosen basketball queen. The Junior Class has participated idiole-heartedly in the other activities of the year. Genelle Bayless, Phyllis Bingaman, Wanda Bowring, Nina Brightwell, Vera Jean Isom, Barbara Miller, and Fern Richey have been in the glee club. Fern Richey has also been a member of the quartette . A majority of the junior girls were members of the pep club, and Barbara Miller has been one of the pep leaders. Hill, Watson, Richey, Williams, Parnell, Dennis, t, Bridwell, Thornton, Whitaker, and Mitchell have starred in one or more of the major sports this year. Bridwell and Thornton were co-captains of the football team. The Junior Class, under the supervision °F Andrew Terrell,, presented the play, Aunt Tilly Goes To Sea , the cast included Vera Jean Isom, Aunt Tilly) Ray Bridwell, Luther Larrimer) Nina Brightwell, Pamela) Don Parnell, Mervin Tucker) Betty Jo IXigger, Sylvia Frayne) Roley Richey, Beroie Oakie) Horace Scott, Daniel Fisher) William Mitchell, Dr. Ferdinand-Fisher)Phyllis Bingaman, Lucinda Tolbert) and Barbara Miller, Jinx Jackson.According to the response given by the audience, the cast gave a splendid performance. Three members of the Junior Class have their names on the Honor roll. They are Genelle Bayless, Wynona Knowles, and Betty Jo Dugger. Wynona Knowles will be awarded the scholarship medal for the highest grade average intthe Junior Class this year. Thirty eight juniors are eagerly looking forward to next term, when they expect to be the largest Senior Class in the Blanchard High School in several years.
