Flash is a student produced publication which relies on submissions of fiction, poetry, art, and photographs from the student body. This year many improvements were made in the areas of layout, selection, and publication, and this enhanced the magazine, providing a far more cohesive final product. Flash is a reflection of the creative element of the Upper School. 1. Bob Piper puls a cover on the rack to dry. 2. The club members’ long term goal was to establish fencing as a varsity sport at Blake, due to the annual success of the program. A highlight of the year was a road trip to a Rochester high school. Forum faces issues Co-chairpersons: Maria Eggemeyer Jeff Kling Secretary: Ellen Lieberman Treasurer: Chris Maxson Representatives: Richard Donaldson Mike Hatfield Grier Arthur Amy Schachtman Tyler Philips Eric Feinberg Faculty: Bill Sherfey Arturo Steely Norma Thomson Ilona Rouda Dan Danielson The 1987-88 Upper School Forum was chaired by Jeff Kling and Maria Eggemeyer. The group of five faculty members and nine students met weekly to discuss issues concerning the Upper School community. The Forum was especially effective in its crackdown on clubs which forced them to be more active. Also, Forum established the B.E.A.R. club which helped improve the atmosphere of the school during construction.
