Thespians Social Committee The Thespians had a fantastic year. With all the new members initiated the group proved to be a diverse arrangement of talent. Highlights of the year were the initiation party at the Women's Club on December 2. New and old members alike took an oath to sustain their membership in the club by helping on set crew, publicity or acting in a play. Doughnuts became the Thespian trademark and were sold every Wednesday morning. Blake theatre has always been credited with excellent performances and this year was no exception. Front row N. Chapman. The funtion of the Social Committee is to promote an exciting atmosphere outside of the normal school day. the duties of the Social Committee are: helping decorate dances, choosing bands, and publicing. Because of the large group, the memh -s are sub divided into sub-commit The Social Committee is a group that promotes participation by everyone. Heading the club were president. Library Club Physics Club The Library club this year broadened its scope somewhat to give its members exposure to the greater world of information and libraries outside of Blake. The club made several field trips to exhibits, a publisher, and other libraries. Within the Blake library, club members helped with a variety of tasks need to help it run smoothly. B Sherfey, S. Schwappach In addition to exploring Physics related properties within the school environment and the community, the Physics club has found time to have fun in the field of Physics. The Halleys comet parties were the highpoints of the club’s year. It provided an opportunity for students interested in Physics to explore the orbital system and the phenomenon that arrives once every 75 years. Outing Club French Club The Blake Outing Club has become one of the school's most active and popular clubs. The purpose of the B.O.C. is to give students the opportunity to enjoy and get back to nature. The B.O.C., through the leadership of President Robin Bennett, Vice President Katie Loken. Treasurer R. Barry, and Faculty Advisor Ric Drill-Mellum. has successfully organized and led numerous weekend outings through out the school year. The outings include such activities as canoeing, cross-country skiing and biking. With such a large membership, the club is known for it’s ability to generate energy and enthusiasm for all events. President: R Bennett. Vice President: K Loken. Treasurer: R Barry. Junior Rep.: S. Dio-mond. Soph Rep.: B Crosby and a sampling of its members The French club “le Cercle de Blake is a new club this year and was formed by seniors Andrea Jarvis and Shannon Kennedy. Barbara Reynolds is the faculty advisor of the club. The purpose of the French club is to give Blake students a chance to speak French outside of the classroom as well as experiencing the French culture. Activities include: de gustations, french parties, and other cultural events.
