Forum The Blake Upper School Forum met each week on Tuesday mornings to discuss issues ranging from school dances to vandalism. One of our accomplishments was the reorganization of the schools extra curricular groups. We also worked on increasing school responsibility and school spirit during extra after school meetings. In short we strived for a better atmosphere at Blake both physically and socially. From row: Seth Pinsky. Dave Clark, Neil Aljlp. Joanne Ashdown. Dion Crushshon. Second row: Don Danielson. Flash This year, Flash saw a number of changes, notably the production of two issues rather than three. There were over forty students involved in the first issue alone. Will Fisher became Flash’s literary advisor and Robert Teslow its artistic advisor. A large staff, pulled together to work quickly, efficiently, and thoughtfully to design the best magazine they could. It was a convenient year to change Flash because there were so many new staff members. Also included in Flash was a discount ticket to the NAHS winter dance and an example of the printmaking talent in the upper school. The changes this year were the beginning of improvements to Flash. Although the staff made trmendous headway, there will always be something that can be improved. Fortunately. this year’s staff was willing and anxious to work hard to create a better magazine. Mixed Co. Concert Choir Mixed Company, led by Robin Bennett and Dale Warner, is a small, select vocal ensemble made up of juniors and seniors from the Concert Choir. Mixed Company is the only coeducational. small singing group at the Blake Schools, adding greatly to the music program. The performances this year ranged from traditional concerts and a madrigal dinner to a concert at Park Nursing Home and tour singing. The repertoire of the group is basically jazz, classical, and pop. Though Mixed Company was composed of almost all newcomers, it has had a very successful year. First row: B. Lucas. N. Chapman. B Hale. T. Gunderson. T Anderson. L. Schmoker Second row: B. Anderson. H Lieberman. B. Hodder. E. Cohen. R. Bennett. D. Warner. Creating, captivating, and charismatic are three words to describe the 1985-86 Concert Choir. Under the directions of Ginny Claessens, and Severin Behnen, this years choir has proved to be one of Blake’s strongest singing groups. Although the number of Choir members has dropped by almost half over the last years, it remains to be an overwhelming success. This year the choir elected to have it second Madrigal dinner, which was able to surpass the success of last years. The group featured delicate sounds at the Talent Revue and Spring Concert as well. Without a doubt, this year’s Concert Choir was the best that Blake has ever had. Front row: G. Claessens. B Anderson. L. Rasmussen. T. Gunderson. K Loken. S. Weinberg. L Schmoker. R. Bennett. D.
