Spectrum The 1985-86 Spectrum staff tried to concentrate on putting out a paper that was not only pleasant to look at. but also informative to read. Led by Editor-in-Chief Brian Lucas. Associate Editor Sara Weinberg, and Faculty Advisor Daryl McAnnany, the entire staff worked hard to fill the paper with stories of interest to the entire school. They looked hard at school affairs and developed a ‘‘nose for news” that produced some very exciting stories. The staff learned to work together and help each other through meetings which often went well into the night. By putting in this extra effort, the ‘85-‘86 Spectrum staff was able to put out a top-notch paper. First row: G. Ebel. L. Schmoker. A. Kopstcin. D. Warner. S. Weinberg. B. Lucas. A. Jarvis. H. Reflections Reflections this year was fantastic to say the least. Every Wednesday night found the hallways echoing with editors voices asking where the layouts for the deadline were. Besides the fact that the staff always found themselves behind schedule, it wouldn’t be fair to say they didn’t have fun. With all the people working on yearbook, the staff was blessed with a diverse range of personalities and talents. Saturday morning meetings were not the favorite but they were handled with superb music and food. A feeling of working directly for the school and its memories kept the yearbookers sane throughout the year. Editor Kathy Everly and Assistant Editors Anne Sundberg and Amy Segal kept spirits high and the meetings fun for all. Bruce Archibald as Faculty advisor also kept things under control with his easy going attitude. The final product is evidence enough that the Reflections staff had “one terrific time”. Flash This year, Flash saw a number of changes, notably the production of two issues rather than three. There were over forty students involved in the first issue alone. Will Fisher became Flash’s literary advisor and Robert Teslow its artistic advisor. A large staff, pulled together to work quickly, efficiently, and thoughtfully to design the best magazine they could. It was a convenient year to change Flash because there were so many new staff members. Also included in Flash was a discount ticket to the NAHS winter dance and an example of the printmaking talent in the upper school. The changes this year were the beginning of improvements to Flash. Although the staff made trmendous headway, there will always be something that can be improved. Fortunately. this year’s staff was willing and anxious to work hard to create a better magazine.
