Blake Talent Gets Rave Revues In terms of success, the 1985 Talent Revue was a sellout. Participation from singers, dancers, musicians and other entertainers made it an enjoyable evening for all. Regulars to the stage: Women's Chorus. Concert Choir, All That Jazz, Mixed Company, Men’s Glee Club and Blaker's Dozen performed with style. A note that hit home in the hearts of all present was the encore done by Blaker’s Dozen. “Teenager In Love”, with an outstanding solo by senior Eric Zeiss. Other acts included the popular Friends Forever title, performed by seniors Lisa Schmoker and Rachel Rubcnsteln. Three juniors lit up the stage with their outstanding singing performances. Joelle Purvis’ ability earned her a standing ovation for her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. The piano was graced with three distinct styles: Junior Matt Segal, Freshman Leif Simonson, and Sophomore Bill Colburn. The bands “Revelation’’ and the “Jazz Ensamble” livened up the evening. “Revelation” performed an original song, Over the Wall, written by Eric Priest. Standing in as the Blues Brothers, Freshmen Peter Weinberg and Robert Goldberg lip-synched their way to stardom. Three talented Freshmen topped themselves Into the hearts of many with their winning smiles and enthusiasm. Two successful attempts at humor were made by Nell Alsip and Dan Goldner, with Inventive skits while Brad Schultze amazed all with his juggling.
