Chorus 6, which rehearsed the entire year, sang an assortment of music including The Gypsy Rover, Be Joyful in the Lord, and Evening Song which was sung in German. Chorus 7, which rehearsed half the year, sang a wide variety of songs, ranging from Wham's Careless Whisper to Praise God in his Holiness. They also sang a song as from the Renaissance, Since First I ' Saw Your Face. The Middle School Choristers, which consisted of both 7th and 8th grade students, sang a combination of Sacred, Secular, and Popular music. Some of these included Gloria Patri, In Memoria Aterna, which were sung in Latin, and Hello by Lionel Richie. All choirs, as in the past, have continued to do an excellent job and have received compliments from parents, teachers, and students alike. K Photo by Walt McCarthy S9 The Blake Middle School bands enjoyed a fun season under the leadership of Mr. David Hawley. Mr. Greg Larsen gave a helping hand with the 7-8 grade band. Together Mr. Hawley and Mr. Larsen helped the 7-8 grade band have a wonderful musical experience. The 7-8 grade band took a three day trip out of state to show off some of their musical talents. The 6th grade band had two opportunities to give concerts at Highcroft and Blake Lower schools. After a hard day of blowing and banging, they took a pit stop at Chuck E. Cheese. The 6th and 7-8 grade band members would like to thank Mr. David Hawley and Mr. Greg Larsen for all their help and support. 6 AND 7-8 GRADE BANDS CONDUCTED BY DAVID HAWLEY 60 61 THE TOP Mrs. Thomson .................. Students took nature walks, had cook outs, orienteering races, went canoeing, and played many types of games relating to the process of nature. m H w m 66 SCIENCE PROJECTS In the seventh grade, all students must do an experiment on their own. In doing so, they must think of a problem and solve it. Then they present it to the class, sometimes giving a demonstration. A few lucky students get to have their projects presented in a Minnesota Science Fair. mmrw Wiiiie W i 4: 2 ha $E? f2 :2 MYM lie 2 mgt: mg m m: W9M 9: 1m? ml J, :?N mam! i at E Vt. wt ? My thoughts travel to times when the world around us will be understanding. When all the countries can agree and work together . . . on peaceful projects. Peaceful not only means to me-- flowers, sunshine, and a still lake but when satisfaction and love are there to accompany them. When the time comes to solve a problem, the world won't jump to conclusions. When all agree, we notice the progress and not collate it for points of confusion. This will be the time when children, my age, will appreciate the love they take-in growing up. When this all comes true . . . it will be a miracle of happiness, a true celebrating time. Peace is what I love. Jenny Wert 95 AUTOGRAPHS mmw meac pamm Am NIL mmmmmm 5.0 Mm. W g A ' 31ir' ' A 3 H
