CLASS FLOWER Lavender Chrysanthemum CLASS COLORS Lavender and White Q SQL A Compliments of THE LIONS' CLUB, Blairstown, Iowa Cfdcfzf .yidforg My name is Mr. Knowledge and, although no one knows it, I have been going to school since 1949, when I started in Wisdom Grade School. As I looked from my perch in the corner, I saw 28 pupils whose names were Neil Niebes, Terry Newton, Reginald Kubichek, Karen Koster, Shona Thompson, Karen Meyer, Judy Kramer, Coleen Hudson, Audrey Kimm, Cheryl Crow, Donald Johnson, Leo Kinzenbaw, Marvin Newton, Emmarella Ohlen, Walter Meyer, Trudy Grunewald, Dennis Simmons, Anna Peck, Barbara Kuch, Elsie Arens, Robert Rieck, Roger Slagle, Kenneth Stoddard, Russell Stoddard, Garth Streigal, Deronda Streigal, Joan Niebuhr, and Kathy Walter. Trudy Grunewald, Karen Meyer, and Kenneth Stoddard didn't join us for first grade. In first grade, roll call was also answered by Judy Stineford, Jean Niebuhr, Ronald Parmenter, Kenneth Hartkemeyer, and James Boardman. As I skim down the page, Ifind that by the end of the year Judy Kramer, Anna Peck, Roger Slagle, James Boardman, and Ronald Parmenter had left our class. On the page titled Second Grade, Isee that Karen Eichhorn, Barbara Fant, Anton Roth, and Janet Rabe joined our class. I remember during third grade that I wanted to give the students my message, but I re- alized that I would have to wait. Karen Eichhorn didn't join us in third grade, but Duane Hiner, Kenneth Guffey, and Lee Higgins did. Ibid farewell to Duane Hiner, Cheryl Crown, Anton Roth, and Lee Higgins. During fourth grade Cheryl Crow, and Betty Hakanson came. As I moved onto my perch in the fifth grade room, Ifound that the class didn't grow. Although we gained Karen Allison and Ronald Close, we lost Ruby Fowler and Kenneth Guffey. At the beginning of sixth grade, Clinton McChesney joined, and Jean Niebuhr, Dennis Simmons, and Ronald Close left during the year. My, but my friends have accomplished much in the past year! If I could only give them my message! Now that my friends are ready for Wisdom Junior High, I hope that they will continue to do as well. Lee Reid joined this year, but also left along with Clinton McChesney. I remember eighth grade and the teacher giving the name Colette Niebes in roll call for the first time. I also remember losing two pupils - Janet Rabe and Russell Stoddard. At this time, I thought better of giving my friends the message and told them to take one step at a time, but to be certain that it was always forward. My book states that my friends are now starting Wisdom High School. Karen Meyer, Fred Robinson, Billie Snow, Linda Voigtmann, and Don Peters joined the class, but Don Peters, Billie Snow, and Fred Robinson left at the end of the year. During the tenth year of Wisdom School, James Leslie and Harlan Hoyt joined the class. I remember that Harlan Hoyt didn't join us for the eleventh year. The eleventh year of Wisdom High was so much fun! James Shatto and Paul Mittan joined the class that year, but, by the end of the year, I had found that Linda Voigtmann and James Shatto were no longer there. Wisdom High has a class of 25 members to journey into the World of Wisdom, and I, too, will journey with them. The graduates are: Marvin Newton, Barbara Kuch, Kenneth Hartkemeyer, Betty Hakanson, Reginald Kubichek, Audrey Kimm, Leo Kinzenbaw, Karen Koster, J can Niebuhr, Paul Mittan, Barbara Fant, Walter Meyer, Colette Niebes, Judy Stineford, Donald Johnson, Karen Allison, Shona Thompson, Neil Niebes, Karen Meyer, Kathy Walter, Coleen Hudson, Cheryl Crow, Emmarella Ohlen, and Terry Newton. A.s time grows short, I give these friends my message - a message for them to remember, Knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers. signed - your friend, Mr. Knowledge. Sophomores - a successful banquet. Juniors - our ability to go on a class trip. School - more classes like the class of '62. gfdki pI'0l0A.8Cy As I orbit around the earth in myspace capsule, my first job is to collect data on the Blairstown Seniors of 1962. First of all, I want to thank Professor Neil Niebes for putting me up here. I sure hope he finds a way to get me down! Oh, there's Fort Leonard Wood, which brings to mind two senior boys- Terry Newton and Reggie Kubichek. They have been hard at work with the U.S. Army for ten years and have finally reached the rank of Private First Class. Congratulations!! Whoops, I almost hit that jet. Iwas so close I could see that cute stewardess, Coleen Hudson. It's too bad that House hasn't found a way to put two people in orbit. I wouldn't mind having a stewardess. Iwonder if those rich farmers, namely Leo Kinzenbaw, Marvin Newton, and Walt Meyer would support the idea of putting two people in a space capsule? I sure hope so. I As I look down out of my little window, I see a new suburb on the northern side of Blairstown. With my telescopic lens I can see the names on the mailboxes. Quite a few '62 Seniors must live here. There are the Paul Mittans, Jim Offts fJo Niebuhrj, Leo Rabes tColette Niebesj, Jerry Schaeffers tBarb Fantj, Ron Plotzs fJudy Stinefordj, and the Dan Freses qShona Thompsonl. In the exact center of the suburb I see a new building going up. The sign on the door says, Walter's Nursery. From the looks of things, Kathy has a booming business. Now the state of New York is looming ahead. Oh, there's New York City. As I gaze at the streets, I see some beautiful coiffures executed by the great pair of hair stylists, Barb Kuch and Cheryl Crow. And I see Miss Karen Allison going into their salon now. She happens to be a very famous banker, well-known around the world. It seems as though my signals are getting mixed up with television. Right now I am seeing the Gary Moore Show and there's Karen Meyer who has won fame as the replacement for Carol Burnett. She sure is funny. And over there is that exquisite home of the Rvdells. Audrey Kimm is happily married to her high school heart throb, Mr. Bobby Rydell. She must be living the life of a princess. Now I'm sailing over Europe. There are Karen Koster and Betty Hakanson. They must have finally made enough to go abroad. I'll bet they're having fun. And there's Emma Ohlen at Oxford. I wonder if she studies as hard as she did at B.H.S. Now I'm over China where the Globetrotters are putting on an exhibition. Why, there's Kenny Hartkemeyerg This certainly is a surprise to see him here. His expert ball handling must have been the reason for his acceptance in this fine ball club. There's Java! I see Jim Leslie is fighting a tribe of head hunters. He always did have a wild imagination! E-gad! What's wrong with my space capsule. I knew it would be that Collin's stuff that would backfire. That Johnson must have goofed again! Looks as if House won't have to find a way to get me down.
