Cfaaa ajwlidfory On September 6, 1948, 16 young children started school together. They were. Karen Bawden, Martha Dewey, Connie Hannen, Richard Kimm, Eddie Kovar, Carolyn Kubichek, Caren Ohlen, Bette Ohlen, Dennis Pease, Dean Schaefer, Bill Schroeder, Bill Thorman, Judy Stineford, Russell Stoddard, Janet Walter and Bob Zweigart. But even before the end of our first year Richard Kimm and Eddie Kovar left us while Barbara Sherlock, Bob Rieck and Garth Striegal joined us. As we began first grade there were two more empty desks as Russell Stoddard and Garth Striegal had left us and no one had come to replace them. During second grade we lost only Judy Stineford and gained Sue Sayers, James Merrick, Richard Rabe, Richard Parmenter, Billie Alcott, Leta Mueller, Vicki Landuyt and Margery and Margaret I-lartkemeyer raising our total to 23. Third grade was another big year for us as we only lost Richard Rabe and Richard Parmenter. Rubye Christopher, Barbara Coover, Melissa Montague, Carol Scheetz, James Coover and Duane Hiner joined us raising our total to 27. In fourth grade, Dean Schaefer, Barbara Coover, Melissa Montague, Carol Scheetz, James Coover and Duane Hiner left us only to be replaced by Ronald Stoddard, Violet Vargason, John Schoen and Harlan I-Ioyt. Fifth grade found us without John Schoen and Dennis Pease but the addition of Carol Scheetz, Ronald Stockstell, Luanne F rimml and Bob Braasch brought our total to 26. Leta Mueller, Barbara Sherlock and Ron Stockstell left us during the sixth grade and no one came to take their places. David Blinkinsop and James Shatto joined us during the seventh grade. Eighth grade found us without Ronald Stoddard and Connie I-Iannen but Charlet Martin, Delbert Burroughs and Richard Rabe were added to our ranks. James Merrick and David Blinkinsop were absent as we began our ninth year. Jackie Gummert, Robert Rieck, Dean Schaefer, Marilyn Taschner, Connie Hannen, Gary Duncan and Joan Stoddard joined us to bring our total to an all time high of 31. Tenth grade found us without Joan Stoddard and Jackie Gummert. Connie I-lannen and Delbert Burroughs had departed by eleventh grade, but John Ford and Paul Mittan joined us. John Ford, Paul Mittan, Robert Rieck, James Shatto, Violet Vargason and Karen Bawden had left us by the beginning of our last year. And so 22 mighty souls had made the long trek to Commencement.
