NOT PICTUR- ED George DePuy. 1957 VARSITY BASEBALL 'lne 1957 Varsity Baseball Team, coached by Mr. Arthur Schaare, en- Joxed a very good season winning nine, losing four, and tying one. This was achieved through the expert pitching of Marvin Meshach and Joseph Castellano. Nlarvin Meshach showed exceptional pitching ability in his four years at Blairstown High School and was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Little Four Trophy was won for the second time. GIRLS' BASKETBALL COACH: Mr. Arthur Schaare The 1957-1958 girls' basketball season was a very successful one. Of the eight games played there was-only one loss. This record can be attri- buted to the excellent coaching of Mr. Schaare, the work of the co-captains, Joyce Van Scoten and Ruth Blunt, and the spirit of the team. The girls really looked like professionals in their newly purchased uniforms, which they received soon after the beginning of the season. Due to the absence of a scorekeeper no records were kept for the first two games of the season.
