xvg W 'L....,, LEFT TO RIGHT: Mr. Louis Caramella, Mary Parr, Elaine Burdge, Dorothy Michel, Diana Shipps, Donna Dayson, Carolyn Erlwein DRIVER EDUCATION CLUB ADVISOR: Mr Louis Caramella The Driver Education Club meets weekly under the supervision of Mr. Louis Caramella. We discuss and learn the details of highway safety and driver training The general aims of the club are: to learn the general safety rules and applications thereof, the correct operation, of the motor vehicle, the proper use of the motor vehicle onthe highways, highway courtesy, pedestrian safety, and finally to aid the student in his efforts to become a licensed motor vehicle operator. The qualifications are that the members must be sixteen years of age or over and have a desire to learn the fundamentals of safety. We use the standard text book and the State Driver's Manual for all discussions. Page Thirty-nine

A committee chairman directs the program and discussion. A current magazine is purchased for the members of the club to use in reports and as extra reading material. Many books, pamphlets, and other materials are at the disposal of all members. Dues are paid monthly and are used for projects during the year. Specific time was alloted for crafts and handiwork such as knitting, embroider- ing and painting. For recreational purposes we participate in various activities, ice skating, swimming, picnics and parties. Page Thirty-eight
