JUNE MAD Hy P lorence Ryerson and Colin Clements l roeluced under the direction of Mr John W Chamberlain June Mad is el hilarious three act comedy about the problems that all teenagers are ficed with at one time or another lhe characters in the play are all in their early or late teens with the exception of Mr and Mrs Wood Mr Harris andthe maid and handyman The play tikes place in the living room of the Wood s residence during the month of June The peaceful atmosphere of the Wood s household is suddenly turned into a turmoil when Mrs Wood s brother Mervyn returns home from college with his very handsome and wealthy friend Roger Van Vleck Penny the Wood s sixteen year old daughter falls in love with Roger and then the problems start Roger showers affection on Penny arrives home from college Roger drops Penny and starts out to win Julie This leads to some very comicalproblems since Julie is Mervyn s girl Penny decides that the only way that she w1l1w1n Roger back is to try to appear older and more sophisticated No one can understand her especially Chuck Harris who grew up with her Chuck decides that the best thing for boys to do is to ignore girls because they are all crazy He devotes his time to his glider which he built against his father s wishes When his father finds out about this he threatens to destroy it so Chuck is faced with the problem of hiding the glider until he has a chance to fly it In the meantime Mervyn finds out about Roger and Julie and nearly flips To add to his troubles the town s nuisance Milly Lou who is only about twelve decides that she would be a perfect girl for Mervyn She sets out to conquer him therefore she is con stantly following him around and spying on some of the other members of the household Finally everyone sproblems are solved by the thought ful consideration and patience of Doctor and Mrs Wood and Mr Harris We all enjoyed working in the play and put much effort into it to make it a success Our efforts were certainly gratified as the play had a good attendance both nights We wish to again thank the people who purchased ads for our play program and those who assisted us with the productlon of the play 7 . , ' - 1 ' X ' L ' i H I Q 1 3 1 . .
