FSA Emphasizes Special Sciences Mr. Hohensee and Mr. Wilson are giving the science students of Blair High School a chance to increase their knowledge of sci- ence by sponsoring FSA. This years officers are President, Steve Suverkrubbe; Vice Pres- ident, Connie Lutz; Secretary, Gary Ras- mussen; and Treasurer, Roger Davis. At each meeting there is a guest speaker of program pertaining to some field of science which helps the members achieve their purposes: to increase their knowledge of science, to learn to perfect their skills in science, to understand the importance of science in their lives, and to help carry out the program of Science Clubs of America. Adult Education Classes Are Major Achievement The Future Business Leaders of Ameri - ca, one of the largest and most involved groups at Blair High, finished a busy year under the leadership of Mrs. Helen Macholan, faculty sponsor. Student officers, D. Cham- berlain, president, D. Warren, vice presi- dent, B. Anderson, secretary, C. Ryan, treas- urer, K. Hineline and M. Orht, historians, and S. Tarlor, parliamentarian found them- selves actively involved in an effort to help the student members better their community. Among the major achievements accom- plished by the organization was the starting of a new series of adult education classes at Blair High. The members were also re- sponsible for completing a census of all the members of the school district in an at- tempt to get suggestions for new classes which might be offered in the program in following years. Dan Flynn, and Roger Davis are this year's Future Farmer officers F.F.A. ers Learn Tricks Of Trade The Future Farmers of America, de- signed to help students become acquainted with trades valuable in vocational agri- culture, experienced a busy and profitable year under the leadership of a new faculty sponsor, Mr. Leach. He was assisted by the 1971-72 officers who were Mark Nelson, president; John Holstein, vice-president; Dan Flynn, secretary; Roger Davis, reporter; and Mike Foley, parliamentarian. Activities for the Future Farmers are varied. This year they participated in dis- trict and state speaking contests, dairy and livestock judging contests, and land judging contests. However, the most important ac- tivities take place in the vocational rooms at the school where the Future Farmers learn practical trades. The highlight of the year is the annual spring banquet when members and their guests gather for the presentation of awards, the selection of a new F.F.A. queen, and the installation of new officers. 2a Mike Foley.
