Films, speeches, and a firsthand view of teaching itself highlighted this year's F.T.A. program. F.T.A. 's purpose is to learn about the various fields, opportunities, responsi- bilities, and problems of the teaching profes- sion; to study the aspects of a teacher's training; and to cultivate characteristics es- sential in a good teacher. Plans for the l967-'68 program included visits to a teachers' college and to a school for the handicapped. Officers were president, Margie Leehy; vice-president, Becky Rasmussen; secretary, Melissa Christiansen; treasurer, Vicky Donaldson, parliamentarian, Tom Rosenbaum; and student council representative, Marilynne Thomas. F.T.A. was sponsored by Mrs. Marilyn Foster, Mrs. Ruth Rasmussen, and Mrs. Mary Vig.
