A new group on campus, the Latin Agers, captured the attention of the stu- dent body. The main purpose of the club was to raise money for scholarships for eligible Latino students. The club had many activities, including trips to Disneyland, Magic Mountain, OI- vera Street, and Catalina Island. Fun- draisers included a candy sale, a candy apple sale, and a car wash. These activi- ties were successful in raising the money needed to fund scholarships. The club looks forward to continuing for many years and hopes that its efforts will result in enriching education for the Latino students. Row I: Dora Gardea, Carmen Hererra, Zoila Herrra. Among the films they saw were Star- struck, Rear Window. and Fannie and Alexander. Other activities included a pleasant visit to the Barnstall Art Museum. The club chose some unique and beauti- ful designs for buttons which they sold in October. This project proved to be a very prosperous one. Their major activity for the year was to sponsor the Great American Smoke-Out. They showed a film about smoking and passed around pamphlets. An idea, which was very popular with the student body, was to rent videos and view them after school. It was activities like this that made the Film Fan Club one of the most enjoyable. Film Fan 7l
