Cross Countr Runs Into Problems The I983 Cross Country Team had an- other difficult season. The Vikings were by no means hurt by the quality of its run- ners, but by the quantity. This problem was faced not only by the boys' team, but also by the girls'. The boys, with only nine runners, were only able to have a Varsity team. The girls were not as fortunate. With only four girls, all of their meets were run, but they were forced to forfeit any winnings. The team won two out of its five pre- season meets by defeating Crescenta Val- ley and Schurr. The Vikings lost to El Monte and forfeited to Muir and Loyola. With such a short preseason, Blair en- tered the season unprepared. The Vikings lost their first three league meets. The runners then went on to defeat a tough Monrovia squad. They then lost their final league meet to Temple City. Coach Molloy will have nearly the whole squad returning next season.
