4 Girls Softball is a Big Hit! This years young and energetic team kept up the softball spirit by training hard and playing well in their games. Coach Jane Wyckoff was pleased with her team because they executed Sports- manship and teamwork. Her skillful coaching and encouragement became a winning combination. Gutstanding players included: Michelle Calloway, team captain, and Laurie Brown, an excellent base runner. Martha Conner, the pitcher, was also much improved from last year. Among the many games that were played, San Marino was noted to be one of the toughest. Despite rough competition all through the season Blair always did well. '29 A Splashing eason! swimming The girls swim team showed their strength and determination through a successfull record this season. The team members, mostly newcomers, spent many hours of hard work with coach Pat McCummins to build the endurance and skill necessary to be competitive. The outstanding swimmers included Emily Wade in freestyle, Leanne Robert- son in breast, Yanina Gallardo in butterfly, and Nikki Takarabi in back. These four girls were the force behind a winning re- lay team. Their first win was a 76 to 62 victory over Cresenta Valley helping to give them a motivating force to finish a strong sea- son. Throughout the season, their tough- est competitors were the San Marino and Arcadia teams.
