A olleyball G ins Strength The Varsity team, coached by Ms. Pat McCummins, showed strong effort and determination in completing a respect- able season. With the record of four wins and six losses they took fourth place in their league. The team consisted of four players returning from last years Varsity team, four from last years Junior Varsity team, and three brand new players. Out- standing team members included lsaura Perez, Kim Johnson, Michelle Calloway, and the youngest, Joanie Virzi, who was only a sophomore. Ms. McCummins feels that this years experience will help con- tribute tothe strength of next years team. Coach Herb Cohen took pride in his .Iu- nior Varsity Volleyball team's winning season. With their great skill and spirit, they won the intercity championships for the third consecutive year. Their season overall, had eleven wins and four losses. Starting players, lrene Hernandez, Esmer- elda Bugarin, Ada Romero, Kim Rodriguez. Beatrix Galavan, and Leticia Ornelas, con- tributed a great deal to the team's suc- cess.
