SIB ' This year the FallfWinter Associated Student Body made a concerted effort to raise spirit at Blair and erase apathy. They made a fast start with a most impressive Homecoming. This activity included the assembly that proved well-organized and rehearsed. For the dance, the gym was outrageously decorated with purple, pink, and white, attracting a huge crowd. Efforts were also made to determine the fate of Blair, with meetings with the Superintendent, R. Cortines. During these sessions, the ASB asked for and received the assistance of another school clerk in the Main Office. This compensated for the work overload due to cutbacks. Other spirited events included caroling at Christmas, faculty parties, and student interaction with the community. With these and other efforts made, the Blair ASB increased spirit and an excellent groundwork for continuing in the next se- mester. -. f X N ' A . PISA It is the objective of the Blair P.T.S.A. to be a support group of the school. The at- tempt to support the activities of the stu- dent body with funds, personnal and ideas. The parents, teachers and staff in- volved attend meetings to keep them- selves abreast of the activities of the school, look into problems and form effec- tive solutions. Annually they help get the school year off to a good start by hosting a luncheon for all faculty and staff the day before school begins. They have supplied food of all varieties free to the students attending the Homecoming Dance, and supplied chaperones for dances. P.T.S.A. puts together the school newsletter to keep the school population informed of sporting events, general information and concerns confronting us Csuch as school closurej. They contact the Superinten- dant and School Board Members to lobby on behalf of issues concerning Blair, and send out tokens of appreciation to staff members on several occasions. They serve refreshments at Open House and Back to School Night working at fostering good public relations for the school within the community and with Private schools. Other helpful efforts have funded emer- gency welfare for situations that arise. Funding the generation and half of the po- lice costs for the picnic as well as sponsor- ing booths, they will also be sponsoring the second annual Easter Egg Hunt and Second Annual Tennis Tournament. Last years big fund raiser bought computer equipment and established a repair fund to expedite expenses. The Leadership Conference was sponsored last year and will be supported this year. The support and enthusiasm by the P.T.S.A. is over whelmingly appreciated by Blair High. We, the administration and the student body would like to thank you, P.T.S.A., tre- mendously. 32 PTSA Nlflflbb 4 3 i 11 1 lNlXll ONLY Q2-oo j Vlwre. 3 WWW Bottom left: Ken Olson attempts to settle the ongoing budget crises at Blair.
