WW ' W Last will and, Testament of Senior Class On a winter morn of 1924 I took it upon myself to carry out the task the Seniors had delegated to me to do, namely, to carry in my memory all cherished possessions and relies that we as Seniors, had, anything to don within the last four years of our existence in the High School, and to instruct a most worthy judge as to what should be done with these cherished relics. ' I left my home at the accustomed hour of 8:45 A. M. but instead of going on the well trodden path which leads to the sohool house, I proceeded in the direction of Judge 1. M. Learned's ofice. just as 1' was climbing the marble stairs approaching his judicial apartments, a sound fell upon my ear, it was no other than the seven minute to nine warn- ing bell. 1 -rushed into ua room and saw before me, behind a massive desk, the all worthy judge. I've come to have you draw up the will of the class of '24 , I hurriedly said. I-Pe took up a lengthy str-ip of parchment and was prepared to take my first words. The bell, I slaid, as the familiar sound still reechoed in my ears, the old school bell. We'll leave that to the future generations who have so far to go in the morning after hearing its persuasive sound. Next, worthy judge, Willie, Watson has instructed me to leave his privilege off being late in the morning to Ewell Rose. Clarice Watson and Mary Marlin say that their traditional chew of gum is still re- posing where any person who needs exefrcise of the jaws can find it and let me see-Oh, yesl Woodrow Lance wants his position as janitor left to Herbert Pernell, who has shown his skill along that line. Ina Jarnagin bequeaths his oratorical powers to Horace jones, and Robert Lowry his debating abilities to Price Watson. Annie Heflin leaves to Gaylon Oliver her conver- sational tactics and asks that they will not be used in vain. We leave to Elta Shields-fthe first seat in the 'fourth row, and Oh, yesl there my tears fell thick rand fast.J Irene Walker leaves to'I-Iazel Butchee the ditorship of an An- nual that may be published in 1925, and all of us leave seats in the Senior room, our text books, land the marks in themj the dictionary, or both of them, and the old paper shelf. We leave those to the students of the class of 1924-'25. In testimony whereof, we sign our name land a-ffix our seal on the 15th day of May in the year of our Lord, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-Bour. signed, ' Senior Class of '24, B. H. S.
