The American Field Service of James Blair is the local chapter of the International AFS. When I left I was an American but when I returned I was an Australian. To me this is the essence of AFS: to experience a new coun- try, school, and family to such an extent that you no longer consider yourself a citizen of one country but a citizen of the world and a brother to all mankind . .
