DECA The James Blair Chapter of the Distributive Educa- tional Clubs of America is an organization of stu- dents enrolled in Distributive Education classes. This chapters purposes are to help develop each studentis leadership potential. contribute to his voca- tional competence, and help him appreciate our free enterprise system. Members are engaged in social activities, as banquets, social hours. and recreation. Their professional activities include research projv ects, field trips. district, state, and national contests. conventions, and fund raising projects. VICA The local chapter of Vocational lndustrial Clubs of America is a professional organization for students enrolled in the Industrial Cooperative Training Pro- gram. Students in this program work under school supervision in on-the-job technical and industrial training stations provided by local businesses. Stu- dents' career training areas include nursc's aide. cosmetology. radilogic technologist. auto mechanics. carpentry, office equipment rcpairmen. and many other occupations. Club activities. fund raising: proj- ects, district and statc leadership conferences, stu- dent-parcnt banquet, field trips, and ernplova-r-env ployce banquet. OT The Vot Club is an organization of 12th grade stu- dents enrolled in the Vocational Office Training pro- gram. Students in this program receive classroom in- struction in office procedures and the use of various business machines. Most students work in secretarial jobs in the afternoon. Club's activities consisted of an employer-employee banquet. fund raising: proj- ects, and a Christmas dance.
