Our first real class project was the bonfire competition in which we won all prizes, hands down, Trish Bonallo represented our class as second princess in the Homecoming Court, We were led by President, Randy Sanders, Vice President, Dave Thompson, Secretary, Toni Stapplerg Treas- urer Linda Morberg and Sergeants-at-Arms, Dan DeMent and Mike Morberg. Toni Stappler and Scott Dohner represented our class in student council, Leading our class through its junior year was President, Bob Wadeg Vice President, Terry Simpson, Secretary Trish Bonallog Treasurer, JoAnne Day, and Sergeant-at-Arms, Sandi Braddon and Steve Walser. Representing our class in student council was June Auld and Scott Dohner. Also representing our class was Sheryl Green as Asst, Treasurer of the ASB, June Auld as correspondent for the Bellingham Herald, Mike Elliott served as Asst, editor to annual, JoAnn Simonarson as Asst. editor to the Flashes and Sheryl Green and Dar Hollinger as Girls' State representatives, We started out the year with a Psychedelic dance which featured the Crystal Tricycle, Our prom entitled Garden of Evening was held at the Forest Grove Ballroom. Reigning over our prom was Darlene Hollinger, Queen, and Scott Dohner, King, Having lead parts in our junior play were Gary Ham and June Auld, It was entitled, Take me to your Pres- ident and had a large cast, so most of the class took part. Finally, we reach our senior year, Through the years we have participated in many activities, but there was more participation in our senior year than any other. We elected Steve Walser as President, Vice President, Bob Benjamin, Secretary, Linda Morbergg Treasurer, JoAnne Simonarsong Sergeant-at-Arms, Dan DeMent and Tim Randell, We were represented in student council by Wayne Breidford and Harvey Ives. The class sponsored an Italian and American food dinner, Our senior play, entitled, Drums of Death was a great success, combining the moods of mystery and come- dy. The Blaine Borderites with the help of 13 senior lettermen, charged through a very successful football season with a record of 7 wins and 2 losses. The Borderites opened the season with a heartbreaking loss to Nooksack Valley Pioneers 6-0. But the Borderite spirit could not be broken, as they came back the following week with a smashing victory over Mt. Baker 27-12. The top scoring game of the season was with 4Tolt, when the Borderites crushed them 39-7, The second loss came the fol- lowing week when Monroe in a hard fought battle, came up on top 14-7 , The Borderites won their next five games against Meridian, Lynden, Lynden Christian, Stanwood, and ended the season with a 20-0 victory over Concrete. Blaine won a second place in the Whatcom ,county league and a third in the Northwest district league. Records like these give us great pride in our team and our school.
