Student Publications The Borderite annual and the Borderite Flashes, the school paper were published by the journal ism class. To a stranger walking into the classroom, it would have looked at times like complete turmoil as various assignments were being worked on by all class members. Out of this confusion, though, came an issue of the school paper every two weeks and the yearbook you are now looking at. The Borderite Flashes was under the leadership of editor, Charlie Ewing and assistant editor, JoAnn Simonarson. The school paper is a mimeographed paper and usually had between 8 to 12 pages. V June Auld was the school correspondent--and every week she took care of the job of sending the Borderwrite columns to the Bellingham Herald and the Blaine Journal. Michele Joubert was editor of the 1968 Borderite. Micaela Elliott was assistant editor, and Muriel Ferguson was business manager. The annual was published by the R.
