The Student CoLu1cil of Blaine High School is composed of the Associated Student Body Of- ficers and two representatives from the Sopho- more and Junior classes. The 1967-68 Student Council was an active group. They met several times during the summer to plan their goals for their term of office. The Council sponsored a very successful Homecoming Week which came to a close with the Homecoming Dance, Fall Memories. Several members of the Council represented Blaine High at Inter-High Council meetings all year. One of the main goals of the council was to achieve a better relationship between the Stu- dent government and the Student Association. Correspondent . .R. Waskowltz Lynda Kimball attended Waskowitz, a student lear conference, at North Bend Washington, for various ' leaders throughout the state Lynda learned different a of leadership. Linda Church was selected as the Daughters of the American Revolution delegate this year. Linda was nominated by the Senior Class, and chosen by the members of the faculty. She was selected for her service to her country, school, and home. Boys' 8 Girls' State June Auld served as corres- pondent and was responsible for writing the Border-Write column for the Blaine Journal and the Bellingham Herald that appeared each week. She presented the school events as they occurred and informed the community of coming school activities. This year's delegates to the 1967 session of Boys' and Girls' State were Gordon Stewart and Rick Wear, Michele Joubert and Linda Church. Boys' State was held at Gonzaga University and the boys had a chance to set up and run their own city, county and state government. The 1967 session of Girls' State was in Ellensburg, Washington where the girls learned about the different aspects of government organization.
