Following tradition, the halls were decorated by the three classes. Students voted for Football Superlatives and played Say the Word contest. On Maroon and White Day many students and teachers wore the school colors throughout the day. A Pep Rally to cheer the Mustangs on to a Homecoming Victory ended school e time activities. Spirit week was climaxed by the Homecoming Dance Friday and by the game Saturday. Underseasi' was the theme of this years dance. The girl's gym, decorated in blues and greens, set the mood for a very memorable occasion. The 1974 Homecoming Court was presented and Karen Jefferies, the 1973 Homecoming Queen, joined them. cnowneo, Heats Roll Shyanne Corbin was crowned Queen during halftime ceremonies; other winners included the Junior float and the Varsity Cheerleaders' car. In the game, the Mustangs scored an excit- ing overtime victory over the Bowie Bulldogs, 10-7. Clockwise from top left: Smilling for the photo- graphers, Homecoming Queen Shyanne Corbin and Senior Princesses Marlene Kellman and Diane Rustin prepare to rejoin the crowd for the second half. Enjoying the excitement of Homecoming, Rangerettes Peggy Pollard, Peggy Collins, and Annette lglesias have some fun before the game. Riding along in their prize-winning car, the Varsity Cheerleaders parade at halftime. Rounding the bend, Dave Watkins brings the first prize junior float down the track. Preparing to Blast the Bulldogs, a young fan rides the senior float. Riding in comfort, Senior Pom Poms lead the squad before the stands. Celebrating a Mustang score, T.K. McDaniels joins the officials in signaling for a touchdown. Watching intently from the side-Iines, Coaches Harvison and Welch await developments on fht field.
