g 'Tri' -,,.1-1-- DOUG' ANOTHER MEMO-Mr. Vozar talks with office secretary, Mrs. Righter, who is in charge of the student office workers. if f V I LJAI For the past five years, through measles and mumps, Mrs. Vivian Grieashamer, a graduate of the Sibley Hos- pital School of Nursing, has managed Bladensburg Sen- ior High's infirmary. This year, aided by her student helpers, Mrs. Grieashamer administered vision, hearing, diabetes and tuberculosis tests, applied countless gallons of rubbing alcohol, shook thermometers at least 6,000 times and issued over 1,000 band aids. 18 Behind the Scenes Most familiar to absence slips, tardy students and the switchboard at Bladensburg Senior High was the secre- tarial staff. Headed by Mrs. Thelma Righter who came to BHS in 1958 and who worked in the main office, the staff consisted of Mrs. Betty Nagel who also worked in the main office, Mrs. Bernadine Turnbull who worked in the guidance office and Mrs. Doris Cox who worked in the library. Under these ladies' direction, office helpers were taught office procedure which included the filling out of myriads of absence, tardy and early dismissal notes and how to operate the ditto and switchboard. ot Blodensburg Happy shouts of Hooray, it's Friday, boldly penciled hearts telling that Stevie loves Roy and AXVH plus jTH and ominous quiet warnings were familiar to Bladensburg's bus drivers this year. But, despite these occupational hazards, BHS bus drivers braved sparkling spotlights, fog. sleet, rain. wind, flat tires and traffic, and ended the year with a perfect safety record. Eighteen custodial workers, headed by Mr. William Robertson, kept Bladensburg sparkling throughout the year. Aided by 70 gallons of wax, hundreds of dust cloths and 15 half a hall wide brooms, the custodial staff waxed floors, fixed broken desks and lockers, set up chairs for assemblies, dances and special programs and kept a check on the 1600 fluorescent lights on each floor in the building. ,avxlfx OFF TO SCHOOL WE GO-The responsibility of bringing BHS students to school is taken care of by CBOTTOM ROW!
