JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS Prcudmt Robert Hanson Vzce Preudmt Margaret Gxbbons .Yccrcmq Janet Ashcroft Trcafurer Laura Hessxon jolly jumors August 31 1945 seemed yust llke any other pleasant summer day but for the mayorxty of the members of the Class of felt as though we were startmg school m the m1ddle of summer' After a long vaca tlon the thoughts of homework every mght were very unpleasant to most of us After a whlle we settled down We studled arduously durmg the week but we could look forward to Frlday nlght dances to relxexe the monotony Basketball games were very popular and several members of our class were on the squad Jack Dwyer Ray Anderson Tom McLaughl1n and Schofield Kelly We took leadmg parts ID other actxvltles thus year The ou tstandmg event for us was the unnor Prom Judgmg from the gos sup heard on the followmg day a good 39 tlme was had by all Our un1or Year was not all pleasure Mld year and F1nal Exams had to be str1de The baseball season has begun and we have made a most successful begmnmg by defeatlng St Mary s Upton and Plam vllle We jumors bel1eve that much of the success was due to our classmates Jack Dwyer joe Moran and Ray Anderson Our members have been depleted th1s year due to the followmg classmates who entered our armed forces Norman Chrxs tman Edward ackson ames Hagan Mllton St Jean and James O Brlen There w1ll be even more vacancles when we re turn next year as SENIORS' MARGARET GIBBONS 45 NXINIFRED McCooEY 45 l . . , A J I . SOPHOMORE CLASS OFFICERS Prefzdcnt Patr1c1a Goguen Vzce Pruzdmt ames Buckley Sccrcmg Mary Beane Trmfurer Ida Rondeau Sophlstlcated Sophomores What a day' I belreve those words must have been on the hps of every Black stone I-hgh School student as he left the school on the day of August 31 They had reason to say lf for mdeed lf was a most confusmg one for some of us Some even were lost among the nolsy reun1ons Thmgs linally stralghtened themselves out and at last we became accustomed to the regular routlne once more As tlme went by the SCHIOFS began the1r Friday nlght dances whlch were thoroughly enjoyed by us Sophomorcs Some of the boys ln the class pomed the basketball team and the games became most popular among us The basketball season over the boys formed a baseball team to wh1ch we may polnt w1th prlde 40 We have lost no games as yet Many glrls from the Sophomore Class dlsplayed thelr vocal 2blllIlCS ln the mmstrel show sponsored by the Senlor Class Of course report card txme was 1mportan't to us but some of us cons1dered even more rmportant the week of vacatron whlch always preceded lf Exammatlon tune always has a way of startlmg one and so lf d1d at Blackstone Hngh School It soon passed however and successfully for most of us Now that thxs year IS over we are all glad of our summer vacauon All 1n all we wlll be just as glad next fall when we enter school as JUNIORSV Noluvu.
