The courses not only provide each student with the principles of the language, but also acquaint him with world literature of the past and present. For the college-bound student, two years of French and Latin are offered. Thestudy of these languages not only helps a student understand the derivation of many words of his own language, but helps him acquire clear and logical thinking. In French II, the students learn of France's his- tory, while in Latin II, they read myths and stories of Julius Caesar and the Roman people. Altogether, BHS has a well- rounded and complete language de- partment.
