With great pride vve dedicate the 1974 Centralian to a man who is a friend, guide and companion. His unself- ish devotion to his work and his involvement in the activities of the school have served as a challenge to his students. Fair play and good sportsmanship is a part of his teachings. He has a genuine concern for each indi- vidual and a desire to help each one. He is one exam- ple of a teacher who cares. Every day we walk through the same doors, and sit in the same chairs. During our year the path never changes, only our direction and destination. .-.. And they who have worked so hard can truly appreciate what they see before them for when the season is over, the pictures remain to remind both the participants and spectators of what had occurred. Long hours of practice, joyful victories, agonizing defeats, this is what is incompassed within the realm of sports. To those who participated in some capacity, the pictures are real and the memories linger. To those people who gave of themselves to actively support Blacksburg athletics, this section is dedicated . ?',RYw..qy.- yy- . , . In this respect senior year is unique , because it culminates three years of experience in a year of change. The final year sees youths become men, attitudes turn to ideals, and followers become leaders. Upon finishing his last year at BHS , the senior leaves his sheltered life and enters into a competitive and challenging society. In the ensuing years of successes and failures, senior year will be ever present in his mind , heart, and soul. The only other requirements are that you be a native-born Ameri- can, that you have lived at least fourteen years in this country, and that you receive a majority of electoral votes. It takes hard work, brains, and a measure of luck. But some man or woman makes the grade, every four years . You have passed a milestone, in graduating from high school.
