Each runner struggling to be successful; Hopes of achievement in each of their eyes. Up ahead the road looks all uphill With twists and turns, a challenge for them all. But there he goes with much determination and persistance. Storming up the road to victory’s end. While running down the road, A glimpse of pain in his eyes. The hero is obviously hurting but he won’t stop U ntil he is successful and has reached his destination. Each step is one step closer to the finish And now the end is near. Up ahead, the crowd is in an uproar. The final flight is on. He can't feel much, but the throbbing in his legs. The sweat down his back and the excitement in his heart. Now he knows he can. And he does! Later standing alone, he realizes He did it! But it wasn’t the victory that caused the happiness. He had pulled himself through and hadn't given up.
