‘3'uwcAa, “Pcut The Broncho's have come a long way in just 75 short years. In the early 1900's the Blackfoot Broncho's high school was a small building. It was made of mud and wood. The original Broncho student body was made-up of freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Many of those bronchos were really cowboys and went to school while also helping out on the family farm or ranch. In 1981-82 we have more members in the senior class than were in the entire student body in those early years. Due to over population the Blackfoot High School now has only sophomores to seniors attending the high school, with the freshmen being moved to the Blackfoot Junior High. The spelling of Bronco's has been changed over the years to Bronchos. However, this is the year of the Juliblee Anniversary of Blackfoot High School, so the Class of 82 would like to dedicate the 1982 annual to the Broncho's past and present. Over the years there have been many improvements in the school academic programs. The latest of these im- provements is tne Honors Programs. There are three of these programs — Honors English, Honors History, and Honors Biology. These subjects are for students who excel in that particular subject; the greatest thing is that college credit can be earned by taking these special classes.

The dress code at Blackfoot High School has also been changed over the years. The students may now wear what they like and choose as long as it is reasonable and appropriate. In the past a strict dress code was enforced. Young ladies would have to wear dresses and all the young men would be re- quired to wear dress pants ana very nice shirts. The students feel that this is a more desirable change; they feel more comfortable in the clothes acceptable by their peers. We, the Blackfoot Broncho's, are very lucky because we have something very special and unique in the in- door swimming pool. The pool gives students who have never learned to swim a chance to acquire this skill. Other classes available for the swimming students are: snorkling, kayaking, canoing, and life saving courses. In 1981-82 the Blackfoot Bronchos student body con- sists of approximately 850 members. The staff con- sists of tne high number of 55. The staff includes teachers, secretaries, custodians, aides, librarian, cooks, counselors, and administration. Bronchos have always set the standards for improve- ment and will always continue to excel and lead the way in inovative education. Bronchos will keep right on improving always but in the year 1981-82 we the Blackfoot Bronchos are Better Than Ever!! tad Pie e tt
