At right Hard work and study is applied with French Below German students are working very hard trying to complete the worksheet by the end of the hour Languages Relate to Our Society The languages at BHS are French. German and Spanish French is taught by Miss Sophia Lambrou Miss Lambrou said. I think the knowledge of a second language is very necessary for many different reasons One is for International travel In June of 1972 Miss Lambrou took a trip to France German is taught by Mr Horace Kearsley He said. German and English are related If you start learning a certain language you should make it a habit and learn it until you can speak it well. Spanish is taught by Mr Gordon Woolley Mr Woolley said. There are lots of people in this area who are Spanish; they form an important part of our society so we should learn something about their language and culture These classes. German. French, and Spanish use the Language Lab to give the teachers a chance to listen to each student individually, without having them do it in front of the whole class which is sometimes harder III and IV year Spanish students spent 9 weeks reading a short story about a man from England who went to Argentina and became a Gaucho' in modern days He was old and a little senile In the book he dies m the end So when the book was finished the class had a funeral for the book The inscription on the cake says El Gaucho Smith is dead at last 13

Joseph Cannon. Dene Carson, and Henry Clark I wish more students were interested in Science.” comments Mr Buddy Fowler Gary Cotterell. It is really what gives us our type of life from trends to trades Biology is most important, in my opinion this generation must be the most responsible generation, or it will be the last. says Mr Clark John VanDercreek and Joe Bergeman study plants in Mr Clark's Botany class

Bookkeeping class considers the problem of keeping accurate records Business Provides For Future Jobs Mr Moss, prosecuting attorney, speaks on the difference between crimes and torts Business is one of the few courses in BHS that prepares students for jobs right out of high school The Office Practice class, which lasts two class hours, gives the girls the experience of working in a mock office. They take many field trips to banks and offices and learned to run their equipment Speakers as well as tests hold a major position during the year Speakers included business men and women as well as cosmetologists Tests held were the Civil Service, the City Employment. and the AEC Commission Stenographical Tests Several contests were held throughout the year and the classes’ scrapbook took third in the state contest. Also during state Joyce Hendricks was nominated for President throughout the state Two scholarships were awarded in the business classes Clerical secretary was given to Gloria Rose and Teresa Spanbauer was given stenographical secretary Mrs Murphy's Business Law class participated m video tapes Stephanie Zilk took the roll of teacher when doing video tapes in Business Law
