High School at last! The first step into the wide halls sent a tingle of excitement through the students who were to be sur-named, “The Dirt of the Earth. There was something different about this beautiful school. It had a lot more classes,-teachers, and the lockers were even big enough to hide in. The conflict then started. The sophomores were degraded by side-glances, special parking places, and going to assemblies through the back door. But despite all these social handicaps imposed by the upper- classmen, the sophomores rose above them and have proven themselves both scholastically and athletically to the student body of Blackfoot High School. We've led the honor roll many times. Our class float won second in the homecoming parade. Sophomores have been active in all sports, consistently bringing home the honors. Sophomores were also active in the debate and drama departments, and it was sophomore actors that made the excellence of the all- school play, “Our Town.” Let us not forget the leaders of this class. Many thanks must be given these three hard-working individuals who headed the sophomores for '64-'65: Randy Bird, president; Rand Elison, vice-president; and Jane Wilson, secretary. Let's keep in mind our past accomplishments and our good ideas which we, as a class, have nursed into reality. Next year, we will be proud to bear the title of juniors and wear it as an example to all B.H.S.! If everyone has a dime ... This sn r Candid s camera, but it might os well be. so THIS IS ENDED_____BUT OUR CLASS PROGRESSES Like all the previous sophomore classes we, too, entered the hallow halls of B.H.S. as The scum of the earth.” But the sophomore class of '63-'64 seemed to have something the others lacked—spirit! Life wasn't easy that first year. But we held our heads high as we trudged through the snow and tiptoed through the mud puddles in the direction of the back door of the gym to attend all the assemblies. Finally we proved ourselves worthy to join the star-studded student body with our sophomore hop Be True To Your School.” These honors seemed to carry us through; somehow, we finished our first year in high school. Elation and ecstasy filled the class as we looked forward to filling the position of upperclassmen. As we started school again on August 31, 1964, we realized that last year's accomplishments weren't enough. So the junior class put its shoulder to the grindstone. We succeeded in becoming a success. Out of our class came top athletes; some of our boys were on the varsity football aid basketball teams; some were champion wrestlers. Some members of the class had the ability to lead; and last but not least some of the pretty junior girls simply made school worth attending. Our prom, “Der Liebestraum”, did prove to be the most festive occasion of the year. And Carol Kershaw reigned as a true and gracious queen. The password for our class is ambition. Every task we have tackled has been a feat we've accomplished. The desire and drive of individuals has made our class ambition . . . The determination “to get the job done and do it well of our class presidents Steve Price and Jim Sorensen has given the junior class its status. And with such individuals as members of the junior class we close another chapter of our high school history book and prepare to begin just one more. This last chapter will be the most important one. Whether we succeed or fail is up to us. Our success will mark our maturity, our knowledge, and our stamina. We shall wear the crown of seniors, and wear it proudly. BOB MURRAY VICE PRESIDENT ______ ERIC ANDERSON SECRETARY ........ LLOYDIENE LOGAN The high school years for the class of 1965 have been filled with many memorable events. During our Senior year we were shocked by the realization that there was so much to learn and that time flew by so quickly. As the first Sophomores to be underclassmen, we felt somewhat disappointed. Then we were the first Junior class to make a com- plete change in the style of rings. By the time we were Seniors, it was decided to combine Baccalaureate and Commencement exercises. We have been a class of many changes, of great leadership, and of accomplishments. Through trial and error we have pushed our way to the top. With the gift of knowledge at our fingertips and the light of success burning in our hearts, we make our way into the future.
