The Blackduck class was one of the first in the state of Minnesota and was started as a pilot program. The food service industry was and is one of the top and is still rapidly expanding. The state felt the need to offer a class to high school students designed to prepare them for entry level food service oc- cupations. The program is also to prepare students and encourage them to go on to vocational schools and colleges. The food service class has traditionally held a fall restaurant and the tradition was carried on with a 50’s style restaurant called Annie’s in honor of Mrs. Floura. They have also sold Monster Cookies, pies for Thanksgiving and breads for Christmas. They do many things for the school and the community.
