During our years .at B.N.S., we, the Seniors of 1974, have been confronted with many events which have swayed our ways of thinking and influenced our lives' patterns. The following are a few of these events which we feel have put an impression on all mankind. VIETNAM VjAR People lost many friends and loved ones through the United States' getting involved . One good thing is that the P.O.W.'s are finally able to come home, many of whom were thought, to never return. WOMAN1S LIB Gloria Steinem helped to get the liberation movement in action. The girls at B.H.S. fully believe that this is a step to better our society. (The guys aren't so sure I) 9 4

Dedication We, the Senior class of 197U, are proud to dedicate this year's Black Quill to Mr. Nestle Grimes, Jr. Mr. Grimes has been in our school system for five years, both as a business teacher and wrestling coach. Mr. Grimes is a graduate of Bemidji High School and Bemidji State College, and prior to coming here, taught in Guam for two years, and in Idaho for five years. He and his wife Donna have four children. Nestle III, a freshman; Tommy, a seventh grader; Shelly, a first grader; and Crystal, age four.

If these are the signs of the times, it would be wise to get our heads together to keep us and everything necessary for natural survival from separating and dimin- ishing. It takes everyone together and the class of '74 will try its best to do its part in making this place a little better. WATERGATE Though our country stands for freedom and is of, for and'by the people, the scandals involved with Watergate proved the misrepresentation we receive through our news medias and it alsoproves to us how little we really know about.what our govern- ment is doing. ENERGY CRISIS It was almost like a sign from sc ewhore telling us that we best cool it or we are going to use up everything needed for survival. But it also showed us that to some people,as long as you've got the money to pay- what's the difference? 5
