THE SENIOR CLASS PRESENTS Mrs. Gerner has been our home economics teacher since 19h2, after graduating from the University of North Dakota where she was a mem- ber of Pi Lamba Theta and Phi Upsilon Omicron. She has taken graduate work at the University of Iowa at Ames. Through her guidance and leadership she has created enthusiasm and instilled an interest in her students so that many have gone into the home economics field. The home economics de- partment has increased in the number taking the course so that it became necessary to employ a part-time teacher to assist Mrs. Gerner with some of the classes. This allows a greater num- ber of girls to enjoy taking home ec. She has organized and has been advisor for the Ushers Club and Future Homemakers of America She was the advisor of the prom for seventeen years, and of many other junior and senior ac- tivities. We are very fortunate to have Mrs. Gerner as a member of our school and community. We the Senior Class of 1963 are privileged to honor her at this time.
