Text from Pages 1 - 60 of the 1955 volume:

The Class of 1955 Presents THE BLACK QUILL Blackduck High School Blackduck, Minnesota Dedication We, the Senior class of 1955, dedicate our Black Quill to the former superintendent, William F.H.Brosvick. Mr, Brosvick became superintendent in 1945 and resigned in December of 1954. During his administration many needed improvements were made. Among these were the reorganization of the schools in this area, the addition of the new elementary school and new vocational departments, and the modification of the science departments of the high school. These accomplishments reflect his excellent executive ability. We extend best wishes to Mr. Brosvick and his family in their new business venture. THEM Superintendent Principal Mr. Norland. Kallroos, Larson, Christiansen (coach) This year's cage team seemed to he somewhat of a bad luck team as they finished the regular season with a 9-9 win, loss record. Five of these losses were by a total of only nine points, making a possibility of a 14-4 record. Impressive in any conference. The Drakes' 7-1 record in conference play, however, was enough to cop the crown for the third consecutive year.
