SENIQR CLASS I-IISTCJRY History of the Class of 1953 With great pride I shall narrate the history of the class of ninteen hundred and fifty three. In the beginning eighteen eager to learn youngsters entered the door of higher learning. They were at first wary, but the kind voices of the teachers lured them on. In this first year this class with much enthusiasm entered the field of athletics, making the team all the more forceful. Their second year proved more successful, for they had been introduced to such formidable subjects as math, history, English, and biology. School now had more appeal to them. As sophomores they presented a comedy entitled junior'S Mous- tache. At the conclusion of this year they were raised to the rank of juniors. For this promotion they were most grateful. As juniors they helped the seniors present a wonderful play, Brother Goose. At the graduation exercises they presented the Seniors with the traditional daisy chain. Graduation exercises over, the combined grades made a pleasant trip to another state, Florida. Entering the classroom as seniors they received an emblem for their efforts - a class ring. This year brought, around the joyful task of selecting an annual staff, announcements, and caps and gowns. As another class has reached its goal, graduation, I close this history with these thoughts: Learn to laugh, It is better than medicine. Learn to attend to your own business, Few men can handle their own. Learn to say kind words, Nobody ever resents them. Learn to stop grumbling, If you can't see any good in the world keep the bad to yourself. Learn to keep your troubles to yourself g Nobody wants them. Carolyn Cook Historian .. .

CLASS WILL We, the Senior Class of 1952-55, being about to pass out of the field of secondary learning, in full possession of a crammed mind, well trained memory, and almost superhuman understanding, do make and publish this, our last will and testament: We, the Senior Class of 1952-55, will to the teachers our gratitude for helping us through the years. I, Carolyn Cook, will to Mary jane Mitchem my ability to laugh the whole day through. Don't take life so seriously. I, jay Wilfong, leave my privilege of going to the store each day to Weston Finger and Colon Rhyne. Don't stay more than one eriod. P I, Faye Smith, will my friendliness to Mary Lou Thomas. I, Larry Buff, will my school bus to Farrell Childers. Please be careful with it, Farrell. I, Rachel Elliott, will my privilege to speak my mind to Hazel Le Fevers and Betty Jo Hendricks, so that the Senior Class will have someone to express their opinions. I, Kenneth Rudisill, will my shyness to Howard Weaver and Danny Whisnant. I, Shirley Jarrett, will my love of soldiers to my sister, Sybil Scronce. I, Helen Hoyle, will my seat in the senior room to Billie Faye Hilton who must keep it free from candy wrappers, chewing gum, and other odds and ends. I, Edith Leatherman, will to Shirley Leatherman my sweet dis- position. It will be attractive not only to the classroom but also t0 the opposite sex.
