Na 2 ' 5 AL-. xr , , ,MSM . 3 Cutu of Black River falls ct ul 2 fi W Joint School District 2, Black River Falls consists of a high school, city elementary school and the branch schools known as the Gebhardt, Irving, Snow Creek, Town Creek, Wrightsville, Hochungra, Millston, Spring Creek, Pine Hill, Disco, Oak Grove, Kenyon, Squaw Creek, Shamrock and O' Brien schools. There are 75 teach- ers in the system, 21 of which are in the high school. Transportation of students to all schools requires 10 buses and feeder cars which travel a total of approximately 113,000 miles annually carrying an average of 606 students daily. The high school curriculum offers full programs in science, language, mathematics, agriculture, home economics, commercial, music, social studies, industrial arts, foreign language, art and physical education be- sides extra activities. We ,Are Hamrrcd to present our compliments to Mr. Ralph Lund who has served as a mem- ber of our school board for the past eight years. Mr. Lund's service has been adequately expressed in the following quote which appeared in the Milwaukee Journal on Jan. 24. SCHOOL SESSION CITES LUND AS OUTSTANDING Ralph Lund, a school board clerk from Black River Falls, was named Wisconsin's outstanding school board member of 1957 at a dinner for school directors and administrators. Lund was cited by the Wisconsin Educational Association at a meeting of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards and the Wisconsin Association of Administrators at a joint convention held at the Auditorium on January 23 and 24. Henry C, Weinlick, executive secretary of the W.E.A,, named Lund for the citation. George E, Watson, state Superintendent of public 5, instruction, presented the award.
