It is not often that we find a character as strong and as sup- portive as you. Your willingness to help us, and more important- ly listen to us, has left us with an image of which we can be justly proud. Your view of life has been projected with optimism, and always, with one of your all-too-well-known jokes. We hope to carry that same spirit with us, to act as a leaven to bring hap- piness, hope, and purpose into all areas of society that we will touch. We are glad that you decided to stick out this last year with us. Our graduation represents a step forward in our lives. We are looking forward to this departure with mixed emotions: relief, joy, expectancy, hope, fear, and a certain sadness. You too are graduating forward, carrying with you the high achievements that only a truly dedicated worker could accomplish. It goes without saying that Black River, in saying good-bye to you, is having to say good-bye to the warm, caring, and valuable friend who has guided each of us, in some special way, in our development. We will always remember you, Mr. Firkey, with deepest gratitude and affection. 2 SENIORS MICHAEL PAUL AHONEN Soccer; Golf; Vo-Ed KURT WARD BAITZ Soccer; Basketball; Golf; Class Treasurer; Band; Year- book; Drama; Prom Committee JIYL YVONNE BARROWS Soccer; Cheerleader; Pep Club; Marching Band; Year- book; Debate; Prom Committee DERK DAVIS BEARDMORE Skiing; Cider Drive BRENT BLAIR BIXBY Soccer; J.V.
