Announcing the 1978 Black River High School LudlowVermont Dedication To a very special lady who helped make our yearbook a reality, not a dream. You spent many long hours learning and working with us. We may have had some trying times to make our deadlines but you were always there to help us through. You have been a source of strength to us all. For this and much more we want to thank you and dedicate the 1978 BANNFR to Ms. Stephanie Rowe. 2 Dedication You've been a great help to our class throughout the years. If not through being our math teacher, it was being our Senior Class Advisor. You've guided us when we needed help and you told your famous jokes to make us laugh. You are a unique person who really cares. For these reasons we dedicate this 1978 BANNFR to Mr. David Baker. 3 Thanks to. . . Do you know where you're going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you? Where are you going to — do you know? Do you get — what you’re hoping for? When you look behind you there's no open door. What are you hoping for, do you know? Once we were standing still in time chasing the fantasies that filled our minds. Now looking back at all we planned, we let so many dreams just slip through our hands. Do you know where you’re going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you? As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself to others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is, many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imagining. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its shame drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. Best wishes for success from KEY REALTY JOHN M. There are unpleasant angles to nearly every important job to be done in this world, but there must be an over-all love for doing each, else precious time and effort are uselessly wasted. I shall never forget not- ing a sign above a construction job that read: “Builder of Difficult Foundations.” That man must have loved that calling, else he would not have made a point of advertising the fact!” Shopping Plaza Ludlow.
